Pictured above is a mixture of barley toy, ribbon, and mixed hard candy. The rock hard barley toy candy, made in the shape of an animal, could last for days. The hard three-cornered nuts had to be broken apart with the hard tap of a hammer on one of the edges, and you seldom got the nut out of the shell in a whole piece, as shown here.
